Few businesses and oddly, even fewer marketers even know that B2B Influencer Marketing is an option.
But let’s say, for arguements sake that marketers and businesses know that influence marketing exists outside the B2C realm, well then, it’s a lack of understanding.
How do you run a campaign or programme?
How much will this cost us?
What’s the ROI for an investment like this?
Prior to Covid-19, marketing statistics were screaming the value of influencer investment and even B2B was beginning to get some attention.
But with physical and budget lockdowns, marketing became the first element of business that was seen as expendible.
This was a mistake.
Moreover, the B2B aspect of Influencer work is one of the few areas where those business persons that saw the need to ‘Pivot’ and flew their entreprenurial limbs, could have taken real advantage.
Covid has seen the collapse of more businesses than we ever thought possible, with over 160,000 gone, permanently in the USA alone.
B2B enterprises, especially those small to medium businesses that are feeling the squeeze must spend the time they have, wherein they are not scouring for new clients/sales, to invest in a low-cost/free programme of activations with other, like-minded and dedicated persons.
Look around your social feeds – how many people and businesses have taken this enforced opportunity to build a presence?
Everywhere we see a new podcast, vlog, webseries or a brand taking a dive into an honest approach that might appeal to understanding and supportive audiences.
We’ve had more than a year to suffer under this crisis and accept the new ‘normal’.
Take advantage of your abilities, your staff, your environment and talents.
Ask your friends and colleagues what they’re doing.
Form short-term partnerships that will benefit both parties.
Ask your staff to step-up and support their business.
Together we can keep you and your business front and centre and while that might not bring the returns your are used to, it might just keep the wheels turning.
